Even if it's hard to believe, I own five horses of my own. Most of them were saved from slaughter houses, one was a mustang that we adopted, and another is my show horse, a Trakehner that my grandparents purchsed for me for my birthday last year. We board them at my trainer's stable and I love them all dearly. Their names and info are here:
Name: What Luck Barn Name: Lucky Breed: Thoroughbred Color: Dark Bay Gender:Gelding Height: 16 hh Age: 5 We rescued him as an off the track thoroughbred because every time something that had to do with racing came near him, he turned aggressive and dangerous. We brought him home and he is steadily improving every day. He and Tink are best buddies...
Name: Tinkerbell Barn Name: Tink Breed: Quarter Horse Color: Palomino Gender: Mare Height: 15.2 hh Age: 10 She was found in a backyard, undernourished and mistreated. It only took some vaccinations and shots, and a lot of food and loving care to get her back to her normal weight and health. I show her in flat classes because we aren't sure yet if she can jump. We haven't tried but this summer we're going to experiment.
Name: Mr. Personality Barn Name: Toby Breed: Throughbred Color: Black Gender: Gelding Height: 16.2 hh Age: 15 He's got a lot of personality, as his name suggests. He is probably the sweeteset horse you would ever meet in your life. For horse camp in the summer, we trust him with the littlest kids, and he loves every minute. He's turning into a fantastic jumper, and our record so far was four feet. I don't want to push him, so I've only showed him in Children's classes. He's such a good boy though.
Name: Remington Barn Name: Remmy Breed: Mustang Color: Chestnut Gender: Gelding Height: 15 hh Age: 10 He was getting old, and his herd was rounded up. One couple adopted him and gelded him too late and it was a mess truthfully. We took him in instantly and we're trying to convince him he's not a stallion anymore, but it's quite difficult. My trainer and I work with him almost everyday, and we got a saddle on him for the first time last week. He didn' like it at all, but it was prgress.
Name: A Sweet Moment In Time Barn Name: Chase Breed: Trakehner Color: Black Gender: Stallion Height: 16.3 hh Age: 13 He's older, which is probably why he was for sale. But he's a fantastic jumper and has taken me far in the low training jumpers classes. His previous owner said he can go to five feet..but I think it might be on of those lies. He might with more training, but I think 4'6 is about as high as we're going to get. He's my eventing horse, and he can do dressage and cross country as well. He's my dream horse, and I've saved up a lot for him, but my grandparents surprised me with him on my fifteenth birthday. He's very special to me and I love him and all of my other horses to death. I'd be lost without them.
