Holly and Rebel cantered along the trail. The young stallion seemed to be enjoying himself. The soft wind russeled the leaves as they slowed back down to a walk. Holly sighed contently and gave him a pat. For once, the world seemed to revolve around them. It was peaceful with the birds chirping melodically in the background...

(hope you don't mind me joinin' in ) Skye, who was happily mounted on 'er buddy Kodak, galloping down th' trail. Zephyr took her blonde hair and whipped it behind 'er. As sh' advanced on th' trail, sh' saw another person, and a horse. Uh oh sh' thought as sh' realized that they wre both stallions. Sh' pulled Kodak to a stop, knowing 'e was well trained to behave properly with other horses, but sh' didn't know about this one. Sh' had seen this girl vaguely at th' stables, but hadn't met 'er yet. Sh' looked at Kodak, seeing 'e also noticed them there. 'is ears were pricked forward, 'is nares quivered. Skye was pretty sure 'e wouldn't start anything, but horses could be unpredictable, even though sh' had Kodak since 'e was born.

[[ nope ]] Rebel noticed the oncomers before Holly. He stopped, planting all four feet firmly on the ground, and released a snort. His optics darted around for a minute. Then he took a step forward, suddenly taking up a trot. Holly tried to pull him down to a steady walk, but turned out that he shot his pillars out sideways, attempting to do a side trot.
"Easy Boy..."
Holly told him as they neared the other horses and rider. They seemed familar but Holly couldn't place them. When they were with in talking distance but far enough away so neither of the horses could try anything, Holly say cheerily
"Hello"

Sh' smiled, taking in th' reins a bit as they approached, shifting 'er weight in th' saddle. Hello! Sh' paused a bit, murmuring softly in Kodak's ears, soon enough 'e would relax. You think they'll behave? Sh' laughed softly, but then remembered that sometimes stallions would fight non-stop. Sh' patted 'is glossy neck softly. I'm Skye, and this is Kodak. I think i've seen you around at th' stables right?

Holly nodded, offering a small smile. Skye's horse was beautiful, Kodak she said his name was. Rebel snorted, as if reading her thoughts and getting jelous. The stallion pinned his eats and Holly backed him a step to get him to quit. Next Holly talked, her voice calm, and even toned
"Holly, and this is Rebel... yes, I believe I have seen you around the stables. Pleasure to meet you."

It's also nice to meet you. Sh' jiggled th' reins a bit, Kodak responding by putting on a "head set". If you think these two will behave, you want to continue th' trail together? Sh' hadn't met anyone 'ere at all. It was nice to talk to someone besides horses, though sh' loved doing that aswell. Or maybe later you can stop at my place and we can chat. Kodak started prancing, 'is hooves hitting th' ground in diagonals, tossing 'is head up many times. Skye turned 'im around and made 'im walk in circles to calm 'im down.

Rebel dropped his head a little, as if agreeing to behave. Holly laughed, her cheeks turned a rosey red when she laughed. Rebel bobbed his head, taking credit for making her laugh.
"I think they'll behave."
Holly said. Rebel gave a playful rear and Holly threw her weight forward. He landed with a thud and a snort. He usually tested her like that, but caught on quickly...
"Which direction?"

How about th' direction I was going? Sh' nudged Kodak lightly with 'er calves and 'e immediatley reponded, going forward at a walk. Skye was glad sh' got Kodak trained when sh' did. Sh' thought about 'is fears, and what 'e was like when 'e was near them. What are th' odds that we are gonna run into one 'ere? Sh' thought. Sh' stopped beside Holly, letting them both get ready. Being an Arab, Kodak was more spookier than most other horses. They rambled off in 'er head Gunshots, tarp, loud noises, things being thrown...

Confederate. Arched his neck and pinned his ears, but didn't do anything else. Holly smiled at Skye and asked Confederate to walk. The stag held his head arched and walked in long strides. Although not sure how to start a conversation, since her people skills weren't that great, she tried.
"What type of riding do you compete in?"

I actually haven't shown yet. I plan to learn Show Jumping soon since Kodak is trained for it. I basically want to go into 3-day. Sh' replied. It had always been 'er dream to compete in 3-day eventing. Care to trot? Sh' asked then nudged Kodak into a 2-beat. 'e moved to th' faster gait. 'e had a very lively, but extremely smooth trot. Skye loved Kodak so much. As they continued along th' trail, a tarp was fluttering very loudly laid across two barrels. Kodak bolted backwards and reared, Skye, who was very close to loosing 'er seat, luckily regained 'er balance and leaned forward, dismounting 'im and leading towards th' "scary tarp". Sh' took 'im slowly. 'e shied every now and again. They were finally a few yards away when sh' turned around and tied 'im temporairly to a tree, and walked up to th' tarp and folded it and put it under a barrel. Sh' went and calmed down Kodak and mounted, going back next to Holly. Sorry about that.

Rebel snorted, the tarp was nothing new to him, but storms, now storms was something he couldn't get used to. Holly nodded and smiled understandingly. Giving Rebel a nudge the continued along the trail at a trot. Bringing back up the conversation, Holly said...
"I have been riding in Show Jumping for years, and Confederate loves it. How long have you had Kodak?"

I've had Kodak since 'e was born. Sh' replied. Sh' remembered th' exact day when sh' had came to 'is mother, whom was in labor at th' moment sh' had arrived. It was hard to believe that was 6 years ago already.

Holly nodded, thinking... suddenly, Rebel reared up, his ears pinned. Luckily, Holly had been expecting this all along. She threw her weight forward on him and turned him in several circles. She then backed him a few feet away from Kodak and Skye.
"Quit Boy.."
Holly told the stallion. She honestly didn't want him causing any trouble, but she couldn't always help his actions.

Skye acted quickly and sidestepped Kodak away. 'e pinned 'is ears and was about to lash out but Skye took 'im away. Kodak, stop it. Sh' told 'im sternly. 'e knew better than to take a fight when 'e was under saddle.

There was a moment of silence. Pure silence. Then out of no where, Holly burst out laughing. She had these random laugh attacks often. Once when she was in high school they were having a class field trip at the national history muesam, and while a man was talking about the Comanche torture, she started laughing. Holly started to slap her knee, and tears pricked her eyes. This was a serious laugh attack. Even Confederate seemed confused at what Holly was doing and so he just stood there.
